RNA
A single-stranded nucleic acid made during transcription, containing ribose sugar.
Ribose
The sugar component of RNA.
Uracil
A nitrogenous base found only in RNA, replacing thymine.
Missense Mutation
A mutation that causes a single amino acid change in a protein.
Frameshift Mutation
A genetic mutation caused by insertions or deletions that shift the reading frame of the genetic code.
Delayed Puberty
A condition where individuals, particularly males, experience later than average development of secondary sexual characteristics.
Sickle Cell Disease
A recessive genetic disorder characterized by the presence of abnormal hemoglobin, leading to distorted red blood cells.
Recessive Trait
A trait that requires two copies of the allele to be expressed.
