Reading Techniques

are the styles, systems or practices in decoding symbols for better comprehension for communication, and sharing information & ideas.

Cognitive Process

• mental process of thinking and remembering ; obtaining & storing of knowledge

Decoding

• to understand & interpret texts and symbols; the process of translating a printed word into something meaningful.

Derive

• to figure out or establish something through logical analysis or reasoning.

• getting meaning of text by using reasoning and observation.

• context is crucial.

Language Acquisition

• the process by which humans acquire the ability to comprehend & to produce language for effective communication.

Reading Strategies

are the planned and explicit actions that help readers translate to print to meaning.
