What is the main structural difference between RNA and DNA?
RNA has ribose sugar while DNA has deoxyribose sugar.
What are the three types of RNA?
Messenger RNA (mRNA), Ribosomal RNA (rRNA), and Transfer RNA (tRNA).
What is the primary function of RNA in cells?
To make proteins by using genetic information from DNA.
What base does RNA contain that is different from DNA?
RNA contains Uracil (U) instead of Thymine (T).
What is transcription in the context of RNA?
The process of copying part of the nucleotide sequence of DNA into a complementary strand of mRNA.
What enzyme is responsible for transcription?
RNA polymerase separates the DNA strand and assembles the complementary mRNA strand.
In RNA, Adenine pairs with which base?
Uracil (U).
What begins the process of protein synthesis?
Transcription begins the process of protein synthesis.
Where does transcription take place?
Transcription begins in the nucleus of the cell.
What is a gene in the context of RNA?
A sequence of DNA that codes for a specific protein.
