what is a fact?
something that is true /accurate and that can be verified / proven.
What is an opinion?
an individual’s point of view that may not be shared by everyone and that is not supported by evidence.
What is a prediction?
a statement which makes a claim about the future.
What is a vested interest?
a strong personal opinion which is based on personal advantage or gain (economic, social, political).
What is a value judgement?
an opinion based on a person’s set of personal values and moral principles, about what is wrong, right or important.
What is bias?
a tendancy or prejudice for or against something, resulting in an unbalanced opinion/approach which is not willing to consider other points of view.
What is a generalisation?
A statement that suggests something is true all the time, when it is only true some of the time; OR when a statement applies the characteristics of a small sample to a whole population.
