What is corrosion?
A natural process that converts a refined metal into a more chemically stable oxide. It is the gradual deterioration of materials by chemical or electrochemical reaction with their environment.
What is an electrolyte?
A substance that conducts electricity through the movement of ions, but not through the movement of electrons.
What is an electrode?
A conductor that is used to make contact with a nonmetallic part of a circuit.
What are the two main parts of an electrode?
Cathode and Anode
What is electrolysis?
The breakdown (also known as decomposition) of a compound using an electrical current.
