Series Circuit
A circuit with one path and multiple loads
Series Current Rule
remains the same across all parts of a series branch
Series Voltage Rule
is the sum of the voltage drops across each load in a series branch
Series Resistance Rule
is the sum of the resistances of each load in a series branch
Series Resistance Formula
Req=R1+R2+R3....
Parallel Circuit
a closed circuit in which the current divides into two or more paths before recombining to complete the circuit
Parallel Current Rule
sum of currents through each circuit element is equal to the total circuit current
Parallel Voltage Rule
voltage across each circuit element is the same and is equal to the total circuit voltage
Parallel Resistance Formula
1/Req=1/R1+1/R2+1/R3+...
