Desert
It occurs inland of 30 degrees north/south latitude, Evaporation exceeds precipitation, Lack of water (no more than 10 inches of precipitation in a year), Animals are Nocturnal & live in burrows, Vegetation is succulents
Temperate Deciduous Forest
Moderate Temp. All-year-round, Low Decomposition rate with high nutrients, & has a Deforestation issue; broadleaf deciduous trees
Arctic Tundra
It has Caribou & birds, Short Summer, Short Growing Season, Permafrost causes wetland in the summer so migratory birds go there; no trees has lichens instead; winter is mostly dark and summer has long hours of sunlight
Coniferous Evergreen /Taiga/Boreal Forest
Cold/Long winters, Low precipitation, It has: Bears, wolves, moose, and beaver, & has a Deforestation issue & acidic soil due to waxy coating on leaves; coniferous evergreen trees
Tropical Rainforest
Most biodiverse terrestrial habitat, warm annual Temp. w/ heavy precipitation and mostly warm all year, nutrient poor soil because high decomposition and plants rapidly take up the nutrients; highly stratified; located in the tropics (between 23.5 degrees N & S); about 12 hours of sunlight year round; broadleaf evergreens here
Coastal Coniferous Forest/Temperate Rainforest
Coastal Areas w/ Ample Rainfall, Mild Winter/Cool Summer, & has a Deforestation issue
Temperate Grassland/Prairies/Tall Grass/Short Grass/Pampas/Veldt/Steppes/Savanna - Tropical Grass land
Cold Winters/Hot & dry Summer, Prairie Plants regenerate after fire due to deep roots, nutrient rich soil; It has: Beetles, Insects, Gazelles, Zebra, & Prairie Dogs, & it has a Farming issue
Chaparral/Temperate Shrubland
Mild Winters/Long, Hot & Dry Summers, Fire is needed, & Residential Expansion is a problem. It mostly composed of shrubs
Mountain
This biome has a snowline and tree line. Trees start below the tree line. There is a Skiiing/warfare issue
Rain Shadow Effect
The upwind of the mountain is very wet. Meanwhile the Downside is dry. The Downwind is like a desert biome. The Upwind of this biome is similar Coniferous Evergreen Forest in colder areas and Temperate deciduous forest in moderate areas
Coniferous Evergreen
A cone bearing plant that doesn't lose its leaves on a regular basis
Broadleaf Evergreen
A plant w/ large leaves that doesn't lose its leaves on a regular basis
Broadleaf Deciduous
a plant with large leaves that loses its leaves annually
Succulent
Cacti; plants having some parts that are more than normally thickened and fleshy, usually to retain water in climate or soil conditions (Desert Biome)
