Aerobic respiration

An oxygen dependent pathway common in many organisms including many prokaryotic ones

Fermentation

Partial degradation of sugars that occurs without O₂. Does not yield additional energy

Redox reaction

Involve the transfer of electrons from one reactant to another (as in the electron transport chain used in cellular respiration)

How temperature affects CO₂ production in yeast

Optimal temperature between 25° & 30° C allows for highest CO₂ production

Environmental variables that can alter organisms’ ability to perform aerobic respiration
