• Impaired kidney function

• Anemia, electrolyte imbalance, bone marrow suppression

• Lactation

• Infuse IV slowly over 4 -6 hours

  •  If given rapidly can cause cardiovascular collapse

• Use a filter to prevent infusion of undissolved crystals
