Behavioral Genetics
Study of the relationship between genetics and behavior.
Allele Frequency
The relative frequency of an allele at a genetic locus in a population.
Phenotype Frequency
The proportion of individuals in a population that exhibit a specific phenotype.
Hardy-Weinberg Principle
States that allele and genotype frequencies in a population will remain constant from generation to generation in the absence of evolutionary influences.
Gene Pool
The complete set of genetic information within a population.
Mendelian Inheritance
Inheritance patterns that follow the laws established by Gregor Mendel, primarily involving dominant and recessive traits.
Homozygous
Having two identical alleles for a particular gene.
Heterozygous
Having two different alleles for a particular gene.
Autosomal Recessive
A type of inheritance where two copies of a recessive allele must be present for the phenotype to appear.
Phenotype
The physical and physiological traits of an organism, resulting from its genotype.
Genotype
The genetic constitution of an individual, determining a specific characteristic.
