Discrimination of the other gender. Injustice or unfair treatment towards another gender. Example:In some countries, women aren't allowed to go to school.
Climate Change
A global problem that is happening because of global warming. Characteristics:Greenhouse gases, melting of glaciers, global warming, rise of sea level. Example:Flooding of cities due to the melting of glaciers.

Composed of territory, people, government, and sovereignty.

Geographical division of continents.
World
Includes the whole world, global scale.
Disasters
Beyond human control, natural phenomena that have already impacted a certain place. Sudden catastrophic events. Two types:natural and man-made. Example of natural disaster:Typhoon Yolanda. Example of man-made disaster:Second Sino-Japanese War.
Hazards
Create risk for disasters. Mitigation:Lessen effects of the hazard.
Types of natural hazards:
Hydrological
Hazards related to water forms.
Climatological
Hazards related to temperature.
Geophysical
Hazards found on landforms.
Meteorological
Hazards found above the earth.
Biological
Hazards related to diseases.
Man-Made/Technological Hazards
Hazards caused by human activities and neglect.
Socio-Natural Hazards
Natural hazards worsened by human activity.
Climate Change
Long-term shifts in temperature or weather patterns, usually caused by human activities.
Preparation for disasters:
Disaster risk reduction
Creates policies and laws.
Disaster risk management
Implements and applies the laws created.
Labor force
People over 15 who contribute to the production of goods and services in a country.
Employed
Persons in the labor force who are at work or in a business.
Unemployed
Persons who are part of the labor force but are not working.
Underemployed
People who are working but have higher qualifications than their current job.
Re-entrant
Person who used to be on a full-time job but took a break due to health or other reasons.
New entrant
Fresh from college and ready to be employed.
Types of Unemployment:
Frictional Unemployment
Temporarily jobless while transitioning from one job to another.
Structural Unemployment
Mismatch between skills and qualifications of workers.
Cyclical Unemployment
Unemployment that rises during economic downturns.
Classical Unemployment
Occurs when wages are inflexible and do not respond to supply and demand.
