The practice of sponsoring a community event or service in exchange for advertising, marketing, or publicity.

A company that adopts business practices aimed at protecting or improving the environment.
Carbon Footprint
The amount of carbon you emit into the atmosphere.
Carbon Offset
The practice of buying carbon credits to offset your carbon footprint.

Sustainability
Economic development that does not harm society or the environment and preserves resources for future generations.

Trying to appear environmentally responsible by overstating one’s commitment; may take small steps or advertise already legally required activities.
Greencrowding
A greenwashing strategy where companies ally with environmental organizations that have big goals, but then do not actually implement those goals.
Fair trade
Trade in which fair prices are paid to producers in developing countries (e.g., coffee, tea, bananas).
