Procedure for communications failure in LELL

1. Head to W point (Rubi) and request the exercise to the tower

2. From W point onward, maintain no more than 1000ft AMSL

3. Fly following the AP7 toward Castell de Marçal without overflying populated areas

4. Head back to old tower and perform circuits staying west of the runway and looking for light signals.

What is the semi-circular rule to be used in Spain for VFR flights?

It’s based on North/South headings (and not East/West like in most other countries).

• NORTH headings (270 to 89º) should be flown with EVEN flight levels such as 4500, 6500, 8500, etc.

• SOUTH headings (90 TO 269º) should be flown with ODD flight levels such as 3500, 5500, 7500, etc.
