What is the purpose?

To encourage HOSA members to improve their ability to present themselves and communicate career information to others.

Dress code

Must be in official HOSA uniform or proper business attire

Health Career Display description

Display allows the students to express ideas through an artistic highlight the benefits of a particular career focus. The students may also be judged on their ability to present themselves and communicate the career information to others.

Rules and procedures?

1. Competitors must be active members of HOSA while being registered to a *middle school

Round One

1. Photo ID must be presented prior to competing. The team will have 15 minutes to assemble the display. Some parts of the display may be done beforehand. In preparation for the round judging .

2. Competitors will not attend

Oral presentation and the top health career displays

5 minutes to present board to judges at 1 minute mark competitors will be warned All competitors will be cut off exactly at 5 minute (whether presentation is finished or not)

what determines final results?

scores from round one will be combined with round two results for final judging

no equipment will be provided except for tables to hold display (teams must bring their own equipment)

what is required of the competitors?

all attendants must attend the HOSA display time for the event during this time team members must stand with their displays and share their display with conference delegates

What happens in the event of a tie?

it will be determined by the area of the rating sheet with the highest point value in descending order

What happens to the display at the end of both rounds?

If display is not claimed by the end of the timed period

Use of display

Visuals or display items used during the presentation portion of the event may be touched or picked up BUT MUST remain contained within the dimensions of the display
