Job Description
An agreement between employer and employee that states responsibilities, tasks, required skills, reporting structure, and salary.
Prioritize
To arrange or deal with in order of importance; a key skill for NAs to manage time properly.
Conflict Resolution
The process of managing and resolving disagreements or disputes in a constructive manner.
Hostile Criticism
Angry and negative feedback.
Constructive Criticism
Feedback meant to help a person improve.
State Registry
A database maintained by the state's Board of Nursing or Department of Health containing NA training information, exam results, and findings of abuse, neglect, or theft.
Continuing Education
Government-required ongoing training for NAs, typically 12 hours per year.
Stress
The state of being frightened, excited, confused, in danger, or irritated.
Stressor
Something that causes stress.
EAP (Employee Assistance Plan)
A resource available to employees offering counseling and support services for managing stress and other personal issues.
