Newton’s First Law of Motion
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an unbalanced force.
Newton’s Second Law of Motion
The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass. F = ma
Newton’s Third Law of Motion
Whenever one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body exerts an equal and opposite force on the first.
Force
A push or pull on an object that can cause it to accelerate
Inertia
The ability of an object to resist a change in motion
