Correlational Method

Expresses a relationship between two variables but does not prove causation.

Correlation Coefficient

A number that measures the strength of a relationship, ranging from -1 to +1.

Positive Correlation

When both variables move in the same direction.

Negative Correlation

An inverse relationship where the variables move in different directions.

Scatter Plot

A graph that displays values for typically two variables for a set of data.

Causation

The relationship between cause and effect that is confirmed through experiments.

Strength of Correlation

The relationship gets weaker the closer the correlation coefficient is to zero.
