A collection of information resources organized for use and maintained by a public body, institution, or an individual.
Virtual Library
A collection of information in electronic form made available and accessible through computer networks.

Cuneiform
The form of writing used in the library records of ancient Sumerians.
Hieroglyphics
The writing system used in ancient Egyptian libraries.
Medieval Libraries
Libraries found in Christian monasteries, often referred to as monastic libraries.
National Libraries
A apex library established and funded by the national government, serving as a repository of a nation's publications.
Public Libraries
Libraries established to serve the general public, typically funded by tax money.
Academic Libraries
Libraries established to support institutions of higher education, providing resources for teaching and research.
Information
Knowledge derived from facts placed in context to reduce uncertainty.
Validity
The accuracy and trustworthiness of a measurement or method.
Reliability
The quality of being trustworthy or performing consistently well.
Completeness
The state of having all necessary or required parts.
BIBLIOGRAPHY
A systematic list of materials that gives description and identification of sources.
Information Literacy
The ability to recognize when information is needed and have the skills to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information.
The Big6 Skills
A process for solving information problems, involving task definition, information seeking, location and access, use of information, synthesis, and evaluation.
Copyright
The exclusive right to make copies, license, and exploit a literary, musical, or artistic work.
Primary Information Sources
Original materials providing direct or firsthand information about an event or topic.
Secondary Information Sources
Materials analyzing, interpreting, or discussing information about a primary source.
Tertiary Information Sources
Sources that compile or index primary and secondary information.
