Phishing

The fraudulent activity of sending emails or other messages that appear to be from legitimate companies in order to trick people into disclosing personal information such as passwords and credit card data

Cyberbullying/Cyber harassment

A danger that occurs via the use of digital technologies, it can happen on social media, chat apps, and mobile phones. It is a pattern of behavior designed to intimidate, scare, shame, and silence individuals being targeted.

Ransomware

It is a constantly developing type of virus that encrypts files on a device, then demand a ransom in return for decryption.

Cyber Prostitution

Obscene and indecent behaviors centered on virtual sexual stimulation and/or intercourse in exchange for money or profit.

Cyber Pornography

The forbidden or illicit portrayal of the human body or human sexual conduct with the objective of sexual pleasure using the internet.

Intellectual Property Theft

Stealing of an idea, artistic expression, or invention from a person or corporation. Includes stealing patents, copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets. Involves names, logos, insignia, inventions, etc.

Hacking

The misuse of devices like computers, smartphones, tablets, and networks to cause damage to or corrupt systems, gather information on users, steal data and documents, or disrupt data-related activity.

Identity Theft

Occurs when a cybercriminal extracts or acquires access to your personal documents, such as passport, license, etc. in order to steal your identity.

Romance Scams

Scammers use dating or friendship to win your trust and get your money. They may ask you to invest in online businesses, digital currency or online trading platforms. They also ask money for whatever purpose and don’t want a video call or face to face meeting.

Credit Card Fraud

Is a form of identity theft that involves an unauthorized taking of another’s credit card information for the purpose of charging purchases to the account or removing funds from it.

Artificial Intelligence Tools

By automating processes, producing insights, and increasing productivity, these tools are completely changing the way research is done. These are now used by researchers to improve the caliber and productivity of their work
