the number of pregnancies in which fetus(es) have reached 20 weeks of gestation or more, not the number of fetuses

nullipara

a person who has not completed a pregnancy w a fetus or fetus(es) who have reached at least 20 weeks of gestation

primipara

a person who has completed 1 pregnancy w a fetus(es) who have reached 20 weeks of gestation or more

multipara

a person who has completed 2 or more pregnancies to 20 weeks of gestation or more

viability

the capability to live outside the uterus

• no clear limits of gestation age or weight

• infants born at 22-25 weeks of gestation are considered to be on threshold of viability and are especially vulnerable to brain injury if they survive
