Sometimes called “chroma” ; refers to the brightness or dullness of a hue
Intensity
The system when paints are mixed together, they absorb more light & reflect back less color
Subtractive Color
This shows color in a logical order according to the spectrum
Color wheel
Red, blue & yellow is known as this because no other colors can be mixed to achieve these colors
Primary color
These are created by mixing two primary colors together
Secondary color
This level of colors is created by combining a primary color with a secondary color
Tertiary color
These are also known as color schemes; they are guidelines for combining colors & color values in design
Color Harmony

Systematic dyeing
This along with paints, can be used to change a flower's color to match popular trends

This refers to the shape of an overall arrangement, as well as the overall materials used in the arrangement:
Form
This type of flower is one that has a long stem, spike, or linear form or both
Line Flowers
These types of flowers are closed form, single flowers that have a dense, rounded shape
Mass Flowers
These flowers are the final placement that are often fine & frilly materials
Filler Flowers
These flowers are those having distinctive or unusual shape
Form Flowers
This is the visual path that creates the foundation for an arrangements style and form
Line
This is an element that is repeated to form a decorative design
Pattern
This is the 3 dimensional area that is occupied by a floral design & may include the area surrounding it
Space
This element works with the elements line, form and space to help determine the physical dimensions of an arrangement

This is both the visual and tactile surface quality of a material
