Why are producers important / what is biomass.

They synthesise complex molecules, plants make glucose by photosynthesis, to do this they use energy from sunlight. molecules such as glucose can be called biomass, and these molecules now pass down the food chain to other organisms.

Producers are source of all biomass in community, they are most important.
