Population Registration Act

Registration of all people within South Africa into the categories: White, Indian, Coloured, and African. Privileges in society depend on your racial category. White people could travel wherever while African people were exiled to their “homelands”.

Started the program of Bantu Education within South Africa. African student would be taught menial and manual labor skills, stop their socio-economic advancement. Seperate schooling for all racial categories, became the norm by 1963.

Criminal Law Act(1953)-Any person who takes action of defiance to the government, is guilty.

Righteous Assemblies Act (1956)-Anyone whose remotely associated to someone protesting the South African gov, guilty too.
