Head to Toe Survey
A systematic and thorough check of a casualty to assess injuries or problems.
Signs
Observable indicators of a condition that can be seen, heard, felt, or smelled.
Symptoms
Feelings or complaints expressed by the casualty describing how they are feeling.
History
Information about what has happened to the casualty prior to the examination.
Recovery Position
A position in which an unconscious casualty is placed to maintain an open airway.
Systematic
Done in an orderly way according to a plan or method.
Thorough
Complete and detailed; not leaving anything out.
Initial Emergency Treatment
Immediate care given to a casualty before conducting further assessments.
Vital Signs
Indicators of a person's health status, such as pulse and breathing rate.
Secondary Survey
An in-depth assessment performed after the primary survey to identify additional injuries.
Casualty Report Form
A document used to record findings and actions taken during the assessment of a casualty.
Primary Survey
The initial assessment of a casualty to identify life-threatening conditions.
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
An emergency procedure performed on a person who has stopped breathing or whose heart has ceased beating.
First Aid Kit

Shock
