Bounce
Running and bouncing the ball every 15m to continue to run, pass or kick. If wet, player can tap ball instead of bouncing. Keep hands over laces and fingers pointing down.
Handball
Closed fist to pass to other players from anywhere on the field
Kicking
Kick from anywhere on the field. Hold a loose heart shape over laces, line the ball up with your foot and kick. Kick with toes pointing forward.
Marking
If the ball is kicked over 15m and caught a mark can be taken with a play on or a free unobstructed kick. For a mark to be taken, the catch must be on the full.

Ruck
Ball is bounced at the beginning of a game, quarter or after a point. Players contest to tap the ball to another teammate.

Drop punt
Most common and basic kick used.
Torpedo Kick
Used for long distances but is less accurate. Angled ball slightly in hands and kick on outside of the foot.
Banana Kick
Used in tight angles near boundary lines using the outside of the foot. Hold the ball sideways and kick in the bottom of the ball with the outside of your foot.
Snap Kick
Used in tight angles near boundary lines using inside of the foot. Hold the ball sideways and kick towards the bottom.
Dribble Kick
Move the ball from across the field. Hold the ball sideways and kick the bottom of the ball low towards the goal. Kicked end over end
Smothering
Throwing yourself at an opponents boot before a kick Step side on and whack the ball into the ground. Lower your body with your arms outwards.
Spoiling
Knocking the ball out of the players hands before he catches it. Come in from the side and knock the ball out of the path of flight. Overhead spoiling is knocking it out with the same timing as an overhead mark.
Tackling
Stop the ball below the shoulders but above the knees.
Drop Tackle
Tackle from behind, arms wrapped around elbows or arms. Drop your knees and spin the player to the side
Front Tackle
Tackle from the front at waist and hips. Pin arm and shoulders. Wrestle to put off balance then use your own body weight to drop
Hook Tackle
Tackle from the side, across the chest. Wrap your other arm around the player as they move forward and drop and spin them to the ground.
Bumping
Only bump a player if they are within 5 metres of the ball. Bump with side, shoulder, arm and hip.
Sheperding
Use an outstretched arm to keep a tackler away from the player who has the ball, keeping them below shoulder level. With ball less then 5 metres away from you.
