Community
A group sharing commonalities such as geography, interests, and culture.
Community gatekeepers
Anyone who has an impact on or control over programs in the community.
Community health assessment
An assessment identifying key health needs of a community through comprehensive, methodical collection and analysis of data.
Community Health Assessment and Group Evaluation (CHANGE)
A community assessment model that utilizes a data collection tool and planning resource to guide community partners in assessment and prioritization of community improvement programs.
Ecological Model
A community assessment model that looks at health as a broad, multifaceted concept. This model considers health as impacted by individual, community, social, political, and physical elements.
Impact report
A communication outlining the outcomes of a community project.
Primary data
Data that is collected by the primary investigator.
Qualitative data
data is more descriptive than quantitative data and not mathematically quantifiable.
Quantitative data
data is measurable. It can be given a numeric value.
Secondary data
refers to data collected by other than firsthand. might include data derived from government or community databases or data that was accumulated by external sources at an earlier date.
Situation statement
Provides definition of issues in which community awareness and support are sought after.
Strategic Prevention Framework
Framework for creation and implementation of a community program.
Windshield surveys
accomplished by a drive through of an area and recording of observations.
