A week after the Battle at Trenton, Washington left a few men to tend some campfires and fool the enemy again. He quietly marched his army to Princeton, where they suprised and beat a British force. New Jersey turned Patriot. This battle helped the American morale.

Battle of Savannah + Charleston

British were frusterated with their failure in the North. They thought people would serve the king if promised freedom. British wanted to occupy the ports of Savannah and Charleston. They wanted to bring the rebellion to an end and end American trade. The British won and in 1779- the French and American troops tried to recapture Savannah but failed with many deaths.
