Newton’s first law

An object at rest will remain at rest and an object moving at a constant velocity will remain at constant velocity unless acted upon by an unbalanced external force.

the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on the object, and inversely proportional to the objects mass.

what happens if forces are balanced 

net force would = 0 and acceleration would = 0

all forces come in pairs, when on object applies a force onto a 2nd object, that second object applies a force back onto that first object that is equal in magnitude.
