Move Tool

Rule of Thirds
A compositional rule that involves dividing an image into nine equal parts with two horizontal and two vertical lines, and placing key elements along these lines or at their intersections.

Leading Lines
A compositional technique using lines to guide the viewer's eye towards the main subject.
Short (Shallow) Depth of Field
A shallow depth of field isolates the subject.
Long (Extended) Depth of Field
A large depth of field keeps most of the image in focus.

A compositional technique using opposite elements in a photo.
Motion
A compositional technique used to make the viewer feel movement.
Line

Form

Color
An element of art with three properties: hue, value, and saturation.
Value
The lightness or darkness of a color.

The tactile quality of a surface.

A principle of design that repeats elements to create a visual rhythm.
Balance
A principle of design that creates a sense of equilibrium.
Unity
A principle of design that creates a sense of visual cohesion.
Variety
A principle of design that includes differences in a composition.
Movement
A principle of design that creates a sense of action.
Rhythm
A principle of design that includes the repetition of elements

A principle of design that makes certain parts of the artwork stand out.
