Critical Reading

Intertexts
The incorporation of ideas from other texts to enhance understanding.
Objective Evidence
Solid support based on specific, factual information in a text.
Subjective Evidence
Evidence in the text that is immeasurable and unspecific.
Book Review
A critique that summarizes, interprets, and evaluates the content of a book or article.
Application Letter
A document that markets a jobseeker’s qualifications to a prospective employer.
Chronological Resume
A resume format that lists work experience in reverse chronological order.
Functional Resume
A resume format that emphasizes job functions and accomplishments over chronological work history.
