Workforce Planning
Forecasting how many and what type of employees are needed now and in the future. It involves gathering and analysing data and then developing responses to the HR needs identified
Labour Turnover
The percentage of workers leaving the business in a period of time.
Recruitment
The process of seeking, finding and hiring people for a position in an organisation.
Training
Teaching employees new skills or improving the skills they already have. Training can be on or off the job
Appraisal
An assessment of an employee's performance; can take many forms including formative, summative or self appraisal
Dismissal
When a business releases an employee from their job, usually because of poor work performance or misconduct.
Redundancy
When the job someone is doing is no longer required, and the business eliminates the position.
