Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP)
A state-instituted policy in the Philippines aimed at promoting social justice and industrialization by redistributing agricultural lands to landless farmers and farmworkers.
Agrarian Reform
The redistribution of lands to landless farmers and farmworkers, regardless of the crops produced or existing tenurial arrangements.
Alienated Land
Property transferred from public or state ownership to private ownership or leased to individuals/entities.
Presidential Agrarian Reform Council (PARC)
The main decision-making body responsible for overseeing the CARP implementation.
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)
The lead agency responsible for the three pillars of CARP: Land Tenure Improvement, Agrarian Justice, and Support Services.
Land Transfer Options in Corporate Farms
Workers can either receive land directly or create a cooperative to collectively manage the land.
Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA)
A certificate issued to beneficiaries as proof of ownership under the CARP.
