what is molarity

* the measure of concentration of a solution

solute

substance that is dissolved (ie: kool-aid powder)

solvent

substance that is doing the dissolving (ie: water)

concentrated solution

solution with a relatively high mount of solute dissolved per volume

dilute solution

solution that has a relatively low amount of solute dissolved per volume

saturated solution

solution that has as much solute as can possibly be dissolved (related more to the color, typically darker)

unsaturated solution

solution that has less than the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved (color typically lighter)
