what are the most common adult cancers?
lung, colo-rectal
what is stage 1?
small localized tumor
what is stage 2?
deep tissue or lymph involvement
what is stage 3?
large or invasive tumors
what is stage 4?
metastasized tumor and all blood cancers
what is primary prevention?
vaccines, stop unhealthy risk factors, chemoprevention (providing therapies to high-risk patients to prevent recurrence or new cancers)
what is secondary prevention?
cancer screenings as recommended and indicated
what is tertiary prevention?
reducing morbidity and mortality once diagnosed (nursing stuff)
what is neoadjuvant treatment?
shrinking of tumor prior to removal
what is adjuvant treatment?
tx given for disease-free but potential for relapse
