Petechiae
Tiny, flat, red or purple spots on the skin caused by small capillary bleeding; do not blanch with pressure.
PERRLA
Pupils Equal, Round, Reactive to Light and Accommodation; normal bilateral pupil response where both pupils are equal and respond to light and accommodation.
Wound staging
System for classifying wounds by depth and tissue involvement, commonly using stages I–IV.

Findings that are considered normal or expected in an assessment.
Snellen chart directions
Instruct patient to read letters on the chart from 20 feet away, test each eye separately, with or without correction, and record acuity.
Nystagmus
Involuntary, rhythmic eye movements (horizontal, vertical, or rotary) often indicating neurologic or vestibular issues.
Closed head injury symptom
Headache, confusion, dizziness, nausea/vomiting, or loss of consciousness following head trauma.
Range of motion (ROM) testing for large joints
Assessment of joint mobility by moving large joints through their full available range to check mobility.
Bilateral Pupillary Response
Both pupils dilate or constrict together in response to light or autonomic stimuli, indicating a normal bilateral function.
