Image
A picture that has been created or copied and stored in electronic form.
Raster graphics
A type of digital image that uses tiny rectangular pixels, or picture elements, arranged in a grid formation to represent an image.
Vector Graphic
It is made up of a specific number of dots, they can be scaled to a larger size and not lose any image quality.
Design
It is the creation of a plan or convention for the construction of an object, system or measurable human interaction.
Point
Simply a dot. It establish position and acts as a visual focus.
Contour
It is created by connecting two or more points. The simplicity, complexity, elegance, and form of line.
Space
It refers to the surface that acts as a visual container, drawing attention to other visual elements in a lay out. It includes the background, foreground and middle ground, and refers to the distances or areas around, between, and within things.
Shape
It is a combination of lines, points, and shape. Unusual shape can be used to attract attention.
Color
It is the element of art that is produced when light, striking an object, is reflected back to the eye.
Size
It refers to how large or small something is in a document
Texture
The look or feel of the surface.
Balance
An even distribution of weight in a design
Contrast
It refers to the arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.) in a piece so as to create visual interest, excitement and drama.
Emphasis
It is defined as an area or object within the artwork that draws attention and becomes a focal point
Rhythm
Repetition is the simplest way to attain it and can be achieved by repeating any of the elements of design (line, colour, texture and pattern, light, and scale and proportion) or other design concepts in an organized and regular way.
Unity
A composition that is achieved when all of the design principles (balance, movement, emphasis, visual economy, contrast, proportion and space) have been correctly applied.
Pixel
It is the smallest unit of a digital image or graphic that can be displayed and represented on a digital display device.
It is the basic logical unit in digital graphics. They are combined to form a complete image, video, text or any visible thing on a computer display.
It is also known as a picture element.
GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
A file format for storing graphical images up to 256 colors. It uses a lossless compression method which makes for higher quality output.
PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
Created as a more powerful alternative to the GIF file format. It can be saved with a transparent background which allows you to place your image on top of another image without an outlining white box.
JPG (Joint Photographic Expert Group)
A file format best used for photo images which must be very small files. It uses lossy compression
Lossless compression
Reduces a file's size with no loss of quality. This seemingly magical method of reducing file sizes can be applied to both image and audio files.
Lossy file compression
Results in lost data and quality from the original version.
GIMP
It is a free and open-source raster graphics editor used for image retouching and editing, free-form drawing, converting between different image formats, and more specialized tasks.
PIXLR
A cloud-based set of image tools and utilities, including a number of photo editors, a screen recorder browser extension, and a photo sharing service. The suite was intended for non-professionals, however the apps range from simple to advanced photo editing.
PowerPoint
It is a software package created by Microsoft. Users create a presentation with a series of slides.

A visual representation of information and ideas.
Chart
A visual illustration of numeric values or data.

Graphic Designing
the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and textual content.
Also known as communication design.
Mostly concerned with elements of design such as typography, color images and use of space.
Information Designing
the practice of presenting information in a way that fosters efficient and effective understanding of it.
Effective presentation of information using design elements and techniques.
Infographics
graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly.
Dtaa
Should be from reputable sources and represent the latest statistics available.
Story
Chain of events that takes from one destination to another. It draws the audience's attention.
Design
Involves the data in a beautiful and appealing way. It involves right color scheme, readable fonts, cool graphics and illustrative contents.
Shareability
The quality of being significantly related in terms of time and resources.
Visual Article
Makes a piece of writing more visual.
Answer questions and explain how to do something using visuals.
They are useful when trying to teach your viewer a new topic.
Timeline
Tells a story through a chronological flow.
Used to explain the history of a topic, or how al topic changes over time.
Flow Chart
Used to answer a specific question by walking viewers through a series of options, revealing the right answer for them.
Also be used to show how a topic splits off or grows
Cheat Sheet
Serves as a quick reference for different kinds of information.
Can also be in the form of step-by-step process on how to do things.
Comparison
Compares and contrasts two different topics, usually side-by-side.
Numerical
Primary content is comprised of numbers, charts, graphs, or statistical data.
Photo Infographic
Used to help visualize real-life concepts or tell a
story.
Offers a unique, eye-catching experience.
Data Visualization
Also used for large data, but the focus is on creative visualization.
Highly dependent on design to be effectively visualized.
Piktochart
a web-based infographic application which allows users without intensive experience as graphic designers to easily create professional-grade infographics using themed templates.
File Management
It is the process of naming, editing, storing, and sharing files.
Google Drive
Free file storage and synchronization service by Google which allows its user to store and share files, as well as edit documents, spreadsheets, slides and forms with other collaborators.
OneDrive
Online storage service offered by Microsoft, which it makes available to its customers.
Dropbox
Service that allows the user to edit a file and have that file sent to, and updated on, the computers of that file's collaborators who use the same service.
Online mobile social networking service that allows its members to share life moments through photos and video and share them with either the public or may only with specific people.
Imgur
It is especially useful if you want to share picture on social networking sites like Facebook but don't want to lose image quality.
Google Photos
Unlimited free storage is available, but the maximum size of photo storable is 16 megapixels.
Flickr
Has editing feature to enhance photo and
organizes the photo into album for later sharing.
Photobucket
Site where images, video, and slideshows can be stored and shared even if those shared with don't have photobucket
account.
Youtube
a website where users can upload, view and share video clip. Most of the content here has been voluntarily uploaded by members and can be watched or embedded into websites of both registered and non-registered users.
Vimeo
It is the first global video sharing website to support high-definition video.
