Limited freedom , prevented black people from exercising the rights gained at the end of slavery

Separate cinemas , separate schools , toilets , houses , buses and so on .

How were they considered ? Black and white

White were considered as “ superior “ to black , black were second-class citizens they had no right to vote although freed from slavery
