Multiple Streams Model

an agenda-setting framework created by John Kingdon that identifies three separate streams of problems, policies, and politics that influences the policy making process(Ex: a country uses this framework to pass stricter gun laws after a school shooting)

kaldor Criterion

This benchmark for compensation is an alteration in the allocation of resources. Where those who are better off could compensate those who are worse off.(Ex: rich should pay higher taxes for better welfare that poor people need)

rational comprehensive model

Analysis of a situation, end reduction and elaboration, design courses of action, evaluate and compare consequences for each action, selection of preferable alternative, assessment of action(Ex: A country uses this framework for making changes to education policy)

Satisficing

A decision-making strategy that aims to create a satisfactory result, but not the optimal solution of the problem by identifying if the policy works and solves the problem to an extent(EX: In a debate for reforming abortion, A country chooses to ban abortion after the third trimester instead of banning it altogether)

Policy Entrepreneur

an individual or group that takes an active and innovative role in advocating for policy changes, often by identifying and capitalizing on windows of opportunity in the political process.(an activist organization who strive to raise awareness for a policy to help incarcerated individuals gain employme

A close relationship between an agency, a congressional committee, and an interest group that partake in the policymaking process(Ex: all 3 of these organizations play a role in protecting an endangered animal)
