Solubility
Mixtures: two or more substances that are not chemically combined
Hetero = different
Homo = same
Heterogeneous = you can see the different parts of the mixture easily
Homogeneous: you cannot see the different parts of the mixture easily
Solution: a homogeneous mixture that combines a solute and solvent
Solute: the solid that gets dissolved Ex. Salt or Sugar
Solvent: The liquid that does the dissolving Ex. Water
Water is the universal solvent
Solubility: how easily a solute will dissolve in a certain solvent
High Solubility: Solute dissolves easily and quickly
Low Solubility: Solute does not dissolve easily or quickly
Saturation: saturation occurs when no more solute will dissolve in the solvent
Unsaturated = can still dissolve
Saturated = cannot dissolve any further
