anyone authorised to possess CDs
How is the CD register organised?
separated into drug, brand, strength, form.

date which received, name and address of person who received, quantity received

date which supplied, name and address of person supplied, prescriber details, quantity, person collecting drug, proof of identity requested/given Y/N, running balance.
Can the CD register be filled in any order?
No- chronological.
When should the CD register be filled in?
on the same day as transaction, or next day if not reasonably practical.
Can the CD register be taken out of the pharmacy to complete?
No- must be kept at premises of which is related
How long should the CD register be kept?
2 years after date of last entry
What is the purpose of keeping running balances?
identify irregularities and discrepancies
How often should balances be checked?
weekly
Why is it more difficult to keep running balances of liquid CDs?
overage, residue, spillage
When a person does a running balance check, what should be recorded?
the check itself, signed and dated by the person carrying out the check, two if possible.
Who can fill in the CD register?
anyone in the pharmacy, but the pharmacist is ultimately responsible
