what is the B.F SKINNER model
Operant Conditioning (1938) In operant conditioning, an individual makes an association between a particular behaviour and a consequence, thus believing behaviour comes from rewards and punishments. He developed and used the ‘Skinner box’ with a rat in a box with a leaver. When the rat pushed down on the leaver it would get food, thus creating positive reinforcement.
what does Neutral operant mean
responses from the environment that neither increase nor decrease the probability of the behavior repeating
what does Reinforces mean
responses from the environment that could allow for the behaviour to be repeated again. this can either be positive or negative
what does Punishes mean
responses that decrease the likelihood of a behavior being repeated, often by introducing an unfavorable outcome or removing a favorable stimulus.
