Seizure
Abnormal or uncontrolled neuronal discharges in the brain, often due to foci of neural activity.
Focal Seizures
Seizures localized to one area of the brain, often with preserved awareness.
Generalized Seizures
Seizures that spread to the entire brain, resulting in loss of consciousness.
Status Epilepticus
A medical emergency characterized by a seizure lasting longer than 30 minutes.
Anticonvulsants
Medications used to prevent or treat seizures.
Parkinson's Disease
A progressive neurodegenerative disorder resulting from a shortage of dopamine in the brain.
Dementia
A decline in cognitive function severe enough to interfere with daily life, commonly associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
Acetylcholine
A neurotransmitter that decreases in Alzheimer's disease, affecting memory and cognition.
Neurodegenerative Disease
A condition characterized by a progressive degeneration of the structure and function of the nervous system.
Myasthenia Gravis
An autoimmune condition leading to weakness and potential paralysis due to autoantibodies affecting acetylcholine receptors.
