Integumentary System
Forms the external body covering; protects deeper tissue from injury; synthesizes vitamin D; contains cutaneous receptors and sweat and oil glands.
Skeletal System
Protects and supports body organs; provides a framework for muscle movement; forms blood cells within bones; stores minerals.
Muscular System
Allows manipulation of the environment, locomotion, and facial expression; maintains posture; produces heat.
Pineal gland
Endocrine gland in the brain that helps regulate sleep–wake cycles (melatonin production).
Pituitary gland
Master endocrine gland that secretes hormones regulating growth, metabolism, and other processes.
Brain
Central organ of the nervous system that processes information and coordinates body activities.
