Describe experiment for constant mass with vary force
1)On desk we draw chalk lines at equal intervals e.g 10cm
2)Attach car with string and attach string to pulley with weights which is 100g
3)Let go of car and record the time that the car passed each distance marker on brake using stopwatch
4)Play back video and record time it takes for car to reach certain points with stopwatch if not possible with human eye
5)Repeat experiment but decrease amount of mass on end of string by 20g
6)Trasnfer the mass taken off the string onto the car to make sure mass stays constant at all times
What should be the result
The acceleration of car is proportional to the mass of the other end of string
As newtons law states that acceleration of an object is proportional to force
Force is the weight of mass at end of string
Experiment for constant force for change in mass
-Don’t add masses to the hook or force will change.
-Increase mass on toy car after every run
What should be the result from experiment
As we increases the mass of toy car the acceleration decreases
Newtons law says that acceleration is inversely proportional to mass of an object
If we don’t get a flat table
