Suffrage
The use of lobbying, protesting, and civil disobedience in order for women to win the right to vote. The movement began in the 1840s and ended in the 1920s.

Highly regarded as a social and political reformer focused on wage abolitionism. She advocated for minimum wage laws and children’s rights, going against sweatshops in the United States.

Founder of Hull House, a settlement house that provided services for impoverished immigrants.

Community centers in poor urban areas dedicated to providing healthcare, education, and social services to those in need.

A movement in the early 19th century that advocated for a law against alcohol.

A famous prohibitionist who smashed saloons with a hammer as a protest against alcohol.

An suffragist who fought for women’s enfranchisement through lobbying, protests, and hunger strikes. Founder of the NWP.
19th Amendment
The amendment that gave women the right to vote in 1920.
