Blood enters through the efferent arteriole, this splits into many capillaries which make up the glomerulus. This causes high hydrostatic pressure of the blood.
Water and small molecules (eg glucose and mineral ions) are forced out of the capillaries and are for the glomerulus filtrate.
Large proteins and blood cells are too big to fit through gaps in capillary endothelium, so remain in the blood. Blood leaves via the efferent arteriole.
