Albert was in a highchair/seat and behind him was someone that would make a loud crashing sound the moment another person walked in the room with a white rat. The loud noise made Albert afraid - after repeating this multiple times, Albert became afraid anytime the white rat came in even if there was not a sound to scare him. This fear eventually became generalized to all white fluffy things.
