Seat A - DAO
Driver; If in an engine, the special service tasked engine driver will complete normal pump and water supply activities.
Seat B - Officer
FE, SAR, TIC, Irons
OIC - The FF will complete a quick walk around to determine immediate life threats and occupancy status. This FF will then lead crew to fire floor for primary search. The OIC will carry a tool (Halligan is ideal) and TIC at all times.
Seat C - FF
High-rise pack, PWE
Irons FF - This FF will be the primary partner of the OIC for primary search operations. If no other FF’s are entering with search crew (crew making entry is 2 FFs), this FF should carry a hook and irons, and heavily consider bringing a water can. Once at the ingress point, the FF can drop irons and continue with hook and can.
Seat D - FF
Exterior ventilation. Hooks + Can FF. If the staffing is a total crew of four, the OIC shall heavily consider splitting crews, leaving this FF outside to throw ladders, VEIS with driver, and prepare for ventilation and roof operations. If the staffing is a total of five or dots on scene allow for the special service crew to remain together, this FF will be an additional crew member for search operations. This FF shall carry a hook and water can.
Seat E - FF
Roof Man; Outside Vent, this FF”s role is to assist with aerial ladder set up with driver, throwing ladders, securing utilities, and being ready for VEIS operations
