Lidocaine
Local anesthetic that is safe for use during pregnancy.
Mepivacaine
Short-acting local anesthetic.
Prilocaine
Local anesthetic that carries a risk of methemoglobinemia but is safe for pregnancy; metabolized in lungs.
Articaine
Local anesthetic that may cause Methemoglobinemia & metabolized in blood.
Bupivacaine
Long-acting local anesthetic.
Lidocaine 2%
Can be combined with 1:100,000 or 1:50,000 epinephrine.
Mepivacaine 2%
Can be combined with 1:20,000 levonordefrin.
Prilocaine 4%
Can be used plain or with 1:200,000 epinephrine.
Bupivacaine 0.5%
Can be combined with 1:200,000 epinephrine.
Articaine 4%
Can be combined with 1:200,000 or 1:100,000 epinephrine.
