Operational Definition

A clear, detailed description that defines a measure to such a degree that everyone collects data the same way

Statistical significance

Proves independent variable caused dependent variable; measurement of likelihood that differences are due to an independent variable, and not by chance

P-value

Indicates that results are statistically significant, <0.5

Effect size

Measures the IV 's impact on the DV

Standard deviation

Measure of how spread out scores are from the mean

Z- score

Number of standard deviations above or below mean

Mean

The average score, found by adding all scores then dividing by number of scores

Median

Middle number of data set

Mode

Score that occurs the most

Correlation coefficient
